Milrem Inaugurates Ground Robotics Facility in Poland

Estonian firm Milrem Robotics has launched a ground robotics facility in Warsaw to extend its reach throughout the European market.

The engineering center will focus on manufacturing the company’s autonomous solutions to meet customers’ evolving requirements while levering the workforce from the city and surrounding region.

Milrem wrote that the new site supports the firm’s dedication to its European partners, their economic growth, and technological advancement by accelerating product development for existing and future projects.

The hub will start operating in July with more than 20 engineers sourced from Poland.

“Poland has a rich tradition of engineering quality and innovation, making it an ideal location for our new centre of excellence,” Milrem CEO Kuldar Väärsi said.

“This investment reinforces our commitment to the region and enables us to leverage local talent and expertise to drive forward our mission of developing state-of-the-art robotic solutions.”

Milrem has been part of robotics and associated integration efforts across the Netherlands, Finland, Sweden, and Estonia.

Recently, the company completed a European Defence Industrial Program called Integrated Modular Unmanned Ground System, which sought modular and scalable architecture for hybrid unmanned systems.

Milrem opened a separate center near its headquarters in Estonia in May.

The move expands the firm’s administrative offices as well as the production of its proprietary Tracked Hybrid Modular Infantry System (THeMIS) tactical ground-based drone.

THeMIS is currently in use across 18 multinational defense partners, eight of which are NATO allies.
