The Ukrainian military will consider any target inside Russia within a radius of 800 kilometers (497 miles) for attack by its Magura unmanned surface vessels (USV).

This country’s Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) made the announcement on national television while unveiling a 10-million Ukrainian hryvnia ($247,000) fundraiser for the production of more Magura USVs.

The Magura has been credited with the destruction of more than $200 million worth of Russian vessels since the invasion began in February 2022.

Total damage caused to the Russian military has reportedly reached half a billion dollars.

“Each drone poses a threat to the occupiers. We will not make any hints,” HUR spokesman Yevhen Yerin said. “At a range of 800 km, we consider any possibilities and any military targets of the enemy to be hit by our drones.”

Multi-Purpose Sea Drone

Built in Ukraine, the Magura USV is designed to support a variety of seaborne missions, including combat, surveillance, and reconnaissance.

It boasts a maximum speed of 78 kilometers (48 miles) per hour and an operational range of 833 kilometers (517 miles).

With a payload capacity of up to 320 kilograms (705 pounds), it can carry advanced sensors, thermal imaging cameras, and high-resolution optical cameras for better monitoring of surroundings.

It can also be equipped with remote weapon stations and electronic warfare modules.

The Magura reportedly features quasi-stealth capabilities thanks to its hydrodynamic hull and improved maneuverability.

To protect against Russia’s sophisticated jamming capabilities, Kyiv made sure that the maritime drone incorporates enhanced cybersecurity and anti-electronic warfare measures.
