The Boeing Insitu Integrator drone recently demonstrated the dropping of a pair of GPS-guided Shryke munitions.
It is part of a program to add strike capability to Integrator, with Corvid Technologies’ Shryke one of several kinetic payloads the drone offers its customers.
“We were able to demonstrate a low signature munition with a safe separation sensor, fuze, and warhead on Integrator,” Corvid Technologies director of business development Kyle Bowen said.
“Integrator delivered the munitions within 1-2 meters (3.3-6.56 feet) of the target in each test flight. We couldn’t have asked for a more successful demonstration.”
Multi-Mission Drone
A NATO Class 1 small uncrewed aircraft system, Integrator has an endurance of 24 hours and a payload capacity of 40 pounds (18 kilograms).
Its modular design allows the integration of multiple payloads — both kinetic and non-kinetic — for electronic warfare, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance, and communications relays.
Payloads can be integrated into the aircraft’s center bay, its two wing trays, and two wing-mounted hardpoints.
Weapon Drop Demo
“The two rounds of munitions were seamlessly fitted into Integrator’s CG payload bay and several mission sorties were executed demonstrating advanced navigation, targeting, and payload delivery systems,” Insitu Vice President of Programs, Engineering & Flight Justin Pearce explained.
“Pairing kinetics with Insitu’s proven endurance and range gives our customers flexibility in how they address a dynamic battlefield.”
