Digital testing solutions firm Keysight Technologies has secured an $18-million contract to provide the US Air Force with two Electronic Warfare Threat Simulators (EWTS).
The EWTS creates and analyzes different electronic warfare scenarios to boost the operational planning of warfighters. It supports the evaluation of multi-emitters, electronic disruptors, and dynamic flight paths.
Alongside the simulators, the company will deliver field engineer support, critical and non-critical spare parts, software patch management, and storage.
Keysight’s EWTS
The EWTS incorporates Keysight’s proprietary M9484C Vector Signal Generator that can sustain a connection of up to 54 Gigahertz with signal descriptor word streaming and virtual channel options.
It also leverages the firm’s real-time radio frequency modeling platform, Simulation View Software, which enables dynamic scenario control and detailed visualization.
The system can be modified with additional software and hardware components to address users’ future electronic warfare requirements.
Moreover, the simulator’s corresponding equipment uses commercial-off-the-shelf technology to reduce test costs, boost timelines, and maintain availability.
Customers employing the EWTS are covered by KeysightCare for technical support, warranty, and corresponding upgrades to minimize downtime and preserve operability after delivery.
