Crystal Group to Deliver Rugged Radar Servers for Defense Contractor
Computer solutions provider Crystal Group has received a contract to supply rugged radar servers for a “major defense contractor.”
The multi-million dollar agreement will provide the company’s proprietary 1U and 2U server systems commonly integrated with advanced radar capabilities in the US military and its allies.
Both solutions incorporate next-generation computing and processing technologies, advanced thermal management, and Size, Weight, and Power or SWaP-optimized design to meet user requirements.
Furthermore, the servers are built to support functionality in remote environments and electromagnetic-contested scenarios, which, according to Crystal Group, are common challenges for traditional computing hardware.
Once delivered, the solutions will be deployed in two radar platforms leveraged against incoming projectile threats as well as aerial drones, helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft.
“My team of Crystal Group system architects is always ready to take on new challenges, and this program enabled us to demonstrate our creative design abilities, while still meeting the rugged standards that are required for mission success,” Crystal Group System Architecture Manager Andy Friend stated.
‘Highest Quality’ Servers
Crystal Group wrote that the project replaces the customer’s existing rugged servers to sustain operability with the “most trusted available in the market” through an “industry-leading manufacturing quality.”
“Winning this program is not only a win for the employee-owners of Crystal Group, but also for the US Armed Forces and those who serve to protect us every day,” Crystal Group Program Manager Greg Johnson said.
“As a Veteran, I know how much this equipment is relied on, so I’m proud to supply our Armed Forces with the highest quality rugged servers.”
