South Korea’s Hanwha Group will introduce its “next-generation” weapons and defense systems at the upcoming International Defense Industry Exhibition (MSPO) in Poland.
Hanwha Aerospace, the group’s defense and aerospace unit, will reportedly unveil a prototype of an unmanned ground vehicle outfitted with a surface-to-surface missile called the Chungum.
The autonomous system can perform search and reconnaissance in areas soldiers and other systems are unable to cover.
It can also support combat missions by helping neutralize enemy tanks in a “broader target range.”
Apart from the unmanned vehicle, Hanwha will display its sonar autonomous underwater vehicle for analyzing submarine topography.
The underwater drone can reportedly execute precise search and reconnaissance by drawing a 3D terrain map even in murky underwater conditions.
Additional Systems
Hanwha’s shipbuilding unit will showcase a display model of its 3,000-ton submarine, the Jangbogo-III Batch-II.
The vehicle is reportedly designed to cater to the fast-growing needs of the Netherlands, Canada, and Poland.
Hanwha Systems also plans to unveil a space-based reconnaissance solution capable of connecting to the weapon systems network of the army, navy, and air force.
The MSPO is scheduled to be held later this week.
