Leidos has awarded CAE a contract to supply a Full Flight Simulator (FFS) for the US Army’s High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System (HADES) program.
HADES seeks to enhance the service’s aerial intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (A-ISR) capabilities by replacing existing ISR aircraft fleets that have been operational since the Cold War.
New ISR Aircraft Training
CAE will manufacture and deliver its 7000XR FFS to the US Army G-2 ISR Task Force and the Intelligence Security Command.
The company will configure the flight system into Bombardier’s Global 6000/6500 aircraft to train future HADES aircrews in “timely and relevant” operations.
The US Army selected Global 6000/6500 aircraft as the next A-ISR platform as it matched the altitude, range, endurance, and speed required by the HADES initiative.
The new aircraft is expected to support critical missions while maintaining capability and quality in the evolving battlespace.
“As Bombardier’s Global 6500 Authorized Training Provider, CAE is uniquely positioned to provide the US Army with a turnkey Global 6000/6500 solution to meet their training requirements,” CAE Defense & Security President Daniel Gelston said.
“We look forward to supporting HADES and the advancement of this next-generation airborne ISR system.”
The contract follows an award received by Leidos in July 2023 to train US Army pilots with the future HADES aircraft.
Preparations include curriculum, developmental manuals, and support materials. Federal Aviation Administration-certified instructors are leading the practices.
