Indonesia has bought 12 military drones from Turkish Aerospace Industries for $300 million.
The Anka intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance drones are expected to be delivered by November 2025, Associated Press reported, citing the country’s ministry of defense.
The drones will be used by the Indonesian air force, army, and navy.
The 8.6-meter (28-foot) drone has an endurance of around 30 hours and a flight ceiling of 9,100 meters (30,000 feet).
The purchase includes training, logistical support, and related equipment with a warranty of two years or 600 flying hours.
Additional Purchases to Boost Air Power This Year
The purchase is the latest in a series of acquisitions by Indonesia this year to bolster its air power, including 42 Rafale fighter jets for $8.1 billion and 12 Mirage 2000-5 fighter jets for $800 million.
Jakarta also received the delivery of the first of five C-130J-30 Super Hercules transport aircraft from Lockheed Martin in February.
Additionally, the country has ordered 13 long-range military radars from Thales. It is also considering buying the AASM-HAMMER smart aviation munition from Safran.
