BAE Systems Introduces ‘NavGuide’ Next-Gen GPS Receiver

BAE Systems has unveiled the NavGuide GPS receiver, a next-gen assured-positioning, navigation, and timing device set to replace the Defense Advanced GPS Receiver (DAGR).

The system’s design features enhanced security and user-friendly features, including a three-inch full-color graphical user interface to provide ease of access to dismounted warfighters.

The receiver can rapidly integrate into existing DAGR mounts and accessories to minimize mission interruptions.

NavGuide leverages an M-Code GPS signal with spoofing protection and enhanced jamming.

It enables the military to counter adversaries in different threat environments through handheld, vehicular, gun-placement, and sensor applications.

High-Performance Upgrade

BAE Systems has nearly five decades of experience in military GPS development and approximately two million GPS-related devices on over 280 platforms internationally.

Throughout its business, the company has produced M-Code GPS receivers in several variants and levels of capability for the US Department of Defense and its allies through foreign military sales.

Work for the new NavGuide system will be conducted at the firm’s Cedar Rapids, Iowa facility.

“The market demanded a cost effective and high performance system upgrade that was more intuitive to the user and could be easily integrated into platforms currently using DAGR. The result was NavGuide,” BAE Engineering for Navigation & Sensor Systems Director Todd Peterson stated.

“NavGuide also provides a moving map, situational awareness capabilities, 9-line targeting, and meets key military environmental requirements.”
