The Argentinean Ministry of Defense has awarded a contract to Bell Textron Canada for the manufacture and delivery of six 407GXi multi-role helicopters.
The country’s air force and army will use the choppers to perform search and rescue missions, particularly in high-altitude environments.
According to the company, the 407GXi in utility configuration will have critical components to support operations in Argentina’s mountainous terrain.
They would also reportedly provide the Argentinean military with unmatched reliability and performance to ensure mission success.
“This announcement is a testament to the long-standing partnership of Bell and CCC to deliver Canadian-built helicopters to customers around the globe,” company official Steeve Lavoie said. “Our team is delighted to enable their search and rescue mission.”
Bell Textron did not disclose the value of the contract nor the estimated date of delivery.
