German defense firm Rheinmetall has started the delivery of 26 high-mobility hook loading vehicles to Ukraine.
Under the “double-digit-million euro agreement,” Rheinmetall will supply the HX 8×8 trucks to expand its support to the war-torn nation 10 months into Russia’s invasion.
HX Family
The 8×8 hook loading vehicle is part of Rheinmetall’s HX3 family of military trucks.
Equipped with an integrated armor cabin, the vehicle can endure mine and improvised explosive device threats.
The reinforced roof also provides space for high-caliber weapons and additional active/passive protection systems for enhanced survivability on the battlefield.
“The highest priority is always given to safety: both that of the crew and of people in the immediate vicinity of the truck,” the company said.
“The HX3’s new technical systems provide decisive improvements, especially when used on public roads or in complex or stressful maneuvering and loading operations.”
The 8×8 truck features a crane, hooklift, tanker/tipper, system carrier, recovery, and light/heavy equipment tractor.
