Poland has contracted Israel’s Elbit Systems to deliver four F-16C/D Block 52+ flight simulators for 226.7 million Polish zlotych ($51 million).

The Polish ministry of defense issued a tender for the system in 2020, receiving seven proposals. Bids were opened in September 2022.

Elbit has offered to deliver the systems within 28 months of signing the contract with a warranty of 55 months.

The new simulator will replace the system which came with the F-16s in the early 2000s.

Requirements

System requirements include simulation of all “F-16C/D Block 52+ onboard systems in the Polish hardware configuration and Operational Flight Plan software version M6.5,” Polish outlet MILMAG revealed.

The system should simulate all weather conditions, air refueling, and emergency training and train at least four crews simultaneously while networked with other simulators.

Next-Level Air Combat Training

The procurement intends to prepare the Polish F-16 crew for combat sorties, including tactical flying.

Training in a networked environment would enable the Polish F-16 crew to train alongside their F-35 counterparts and even perform in multinational exercises, according to Defence 24.

Poland bought 32 F-35s in 2019 in a deal worth more than $6 billion.
