Indian defense firm Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited has received a $155.5-million order from a “friendly” nation to supply 155-millimeter artillery guns.
The company has not revealed the name of its latest foreign client but said that the customer is from a “non-conflict zone.”
Kalyani also has not specified how many weapon systems it would provide.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, the weapons manufacturer was in talks with Saudi Arabia for the possible sale of Bharat 52 155mm/52-caliber artillery guns.
The Defense Post could not independently verify if the $155.5-million agreement was from the Middle Eastern nation.
Work for the contract will be performed over the next three years.
Part of ‘Make In India’ Program
Kalyani explained that the recently-awarded export contract is a testament to the government’s initiative to make India a self-reliant nation in defense.
The Aatmanirbhar Bharat effort supports the export of indigenously developed defense platforms to friendly nations.
Among the military hardware being exported by New Delhi are missiles, helicopters, surveillance systems, radars, and offshore patrol vessels.
Earlier this year, the country inked an agreement with the Philippines to export three batteries of the BrahMos cruise missile for $375 million.
Indian state-owned Hindustan Aeronautics Limited also negotiated with the Southeast Asian country to sell at least seven Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopters and eight Dornier 228 aircraft.
