Russia has lost nearly 63,000 soldiers since it launched its invasion of Ukraine on February 24, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.

The losses are attributed to Kyiv’s strong counter-offensives, particularly in key locations captured by Moscow.

Apart from the casualties, Russia has reportedly also lost thousands of weapons and equipment amid the ongoing war.

A total of 2,505 Russian main battle tanks have been destroyed, while 5,165 armored combat vehicles were neutralized.

Moscow has also lost more than 1,000 aircraft and drones due to Ukraine’s strong air defense systems.

“Over the past day, Russian troops have suffered the highest losses in the Kramatorsk direction and the Kryvyi Rih direction,” state-owned news agency Ukrinform announced.

Earlier this year, it was reported that President Vladimir Putin lost more than $5 billion in military equipment since the invasion.

The Insider also revealed that Ukrainian mechanics are repairing damaged and captured Russian tanks to be used by Kyiv’s forces.
