American vehicle manufacturer The Armored Group (TAG) announced that it has been awarded a $23.2 million contract to produce and deliver armored vehicles to an unnamed Eastern European nation.
TAG will supply 100 armored vehicles as part of the contract, with initial deliveries slated for this month.
The company is partnering with Grey Raven Group (GRG) to conduct equipment analysis and offer product management support.
“As a combat veteran, there is nothing more satisfying than seeing a team come together for a common mission,” TAG Vice President Beau Gailey said. “TAG is proud to join forces with GRG to address this critical armored military vehicle need.”
Gailey further noted that the vehicles would provide a critical capability to the armed forces as it “protects the right to determine the future of their nation.”
Conflict in Eastern Europe
Tensions in Eastern Europe have reached levels not seen in decades, with Russia launching a full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appealed to allied nations and the foreign defense industry for high-powered weapons and equipment to defend the country against Russian aggression.
Poland is also on high alert should the conflict escalate and the need to defend itself arises.
