The Pakistan Navy claimed on Tuesday that it had detected and blocked an Indian submarine from entering the country’s territorial waters on October 16.
The Pakistan military media wing, Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), stated that a long-range naval patrol aircraft detected the Indian undersea vessel, adding that it was the third time the neighboring country’s submarine had been detected.
ISPR posted brief footage of the alleged incident.
“During the prevailing security milieu, a strict monitoring watch has been kept by the Pakistan Navy to safeguard maritime frontiers of Pakistan,” ISPR said.
Pakistan had previously claimed that Indian submarines tried to enter its waters in March 2019 and November 2016.
There was no immediate response from the Indian government regarding the latest accusation.
