Boeing was granted a $157 million contract modification for original manufacturer training for the Royal Saudi Air Force’s fleet of F-15SA fighter aircraft, the U.S. Defense Department said in a statement.

“The Boeing Co., St. Louis, Missouri, has been awarded a $156,911,600 indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity bilateral contract modification to previously awarded contract FA3002-13-D-0012 for the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) F-15SA Original Equipment Manufacturer Training Program,” the Thursday, 19 September statement read.

“This modification adds a two year ordering period to the multi-year basic contract.”

Work will be undertaken in Saudi Arabia at King Khalid Air Base in Khamis Mushayt, King Faisal Air Base in Tabuk and at King Abdul Aziz Air Base in Dhahran and is expected to be completed by December 31, 2021.

Saudi Arabia’s F-15SA Advanced Eagle includes Raytheon’s APG-63(V)3 AESA radar, fly-by-wire control systems and two additional underwing weapons stations, bringing the total to 11. It also featured upgraded avionics, more powerful engines, and the BAE Systems Digital Electronic Warfare System/Common Missile Warning System (DEWS/CMWS).

The first of the kingdom’s 152 new and remanufactured F-15SA aircraft arrived at King Khalid Air Base in December 2016.
