Two pilots of a Sukhoi-25UB jet were killed on Tuesday when their plane crashed in southwest Russia, the defense ministry has said.

Both pilots failed to eject from the twin-seater jet when it crashed the Stavropol territory, Tass reported the Ministry of Defence as saying on Wednesday, September 4.

Investigators have said the crash occurred during a training flight when the pilots were attempting to perform a dead loop and flew into the ground, Tass said.

The Su-25UB is a trainer variant of the Su-25 Grach close air support aircraft.
