Explosion reported near protest in Afghan capital Kabul
A bomb blast was reported in the Afghan capital on Monday afternoon, near a protest by disqualified election candidates.
The explosion was reported in Police District 9 of Kabul near the Independent Election Commission office where the demonstration was underway.
At least one police officer was killed and another injured. Ariana News reported that the bomb was attached to a police vehicle near the IEC office gates.
Tolo News reported police as saying the bombing was a suicide attack, and the assailant detonated his explosives near the protesters.
