Rafael posts record $2.2 billion in sales for 2017
Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd. posted an all-time high of $2.2 billion in sales last year along with record orders, the company said on Wednesday.
In its fiscal year 2017 results, Rafael posted a net profit of $124 million, $2.2 billion in sales, and record-high orders of $3 billion along with a record-high order backlog of $6.9 billion.
Orders were by $24 million from 2016, while sales improved to $2.258 billion from $2.030 billion the previous year.
The largest employer in northern Israel, Rafael develops and manufacturers advanced defense systems for the Israel Defense Forces, and exports around the world.
The 2017 results were driven by continued sales of air, land, martime and cyber solutions. Approximately 46 percent of Rafael’s sales are intended for export across Asia, Europe, North America and South America, according to the company.

Rafael is the developer of the Iron Dome and David’s Sling air defense systems and the “C-Dome” system that was declared operational by the Israel Navy in November.
